Ownership, transfer and deleting a workspace
The owner pays and decides — here's how to hand over, and what deletion really deletes.
Last updated July 7, 2026
Every workspace has exactly one owner: the billing principal (quotas run on their plan) and the only person who can rename the workspace, transfer it, or delete it.
- Transfer ownership — hand the workspace to another member; you stay on board as an admin. Do this when the responsible person changes, or before deleting your own account.
- Removing a member — takes effect immediately; they can no longer open the workspace or anything in it.
- Deleting a workspace — permanently erases the workspace with all its forms, responses and files from our storage. There is no undo; export first if anything might be needed later.
Note
You can't delete your account while you own a workspace that still has other members — transfer ownership first. This protects your team from losing their shared data through someone else's account decision (article 8.6).
