Legal framework in Switzerland

Art. 328 OR requires employers to take all measures to protect employees from bullying, sexual harassment, and discrimination. The Gleichstellungsgesetz (GlG) specifically addresses gender-based harassment. The Whistleblower Directive (EU 2019/1937) applies to Swiss companies operating in the EU.

What is workplace harassment?

Harassment (Belästigung / harcèlement) includes repeated hostile behaviour, unwanted sexual conduct, discrimination based on protected characteristics (gender, origin, disability, religion), and psychological pressure intended to demean or destabilise an employee.

FAQ: Can I report anonymously?

Yes. You may leave the identity fields blank. Anonymous reports are treated with equal seriousness. Providing contact details allows HR to follow up with you, but it is never required.

FAQ: What happens after I submit?

The designated HR officer or ombudsperson reviews the report within the agreed timeframe (typically 5 business days). You will be contacted if you provided your details. All reports are stored encrypted and access is strictly limited.
